Well, at this point I would have to believe that you have a connectivity problem with the other node. I you have a null modem cable I'd direct attached the two and bypass your network, and rerun.

Else, verify all you lan node connections especially speed and duplex.

You connectivity in service guard begins with the Mac address, what do you see when you run

arp -a
