cmcheckconf error message

Hi

I have a MC/ServiceGuard 11.15.00 cluster running on HP-UX11i.

Problem:
If I run cmcheckconf on node A in the cluster it goes thru fine, but if I run it on node B it tells me the following.

Unknown keyword (LOCAL_LAN_FAILOVER_ALLOWED)

Note: Both systems A and B are patched the same.

Thanks

Regards

Re: cmcheckconf error message

I would suggest you verify the version for Serviceguard by doing the following on BOTH nodes, and posting it here:
what /usr/lbin/cmcld

LOCAL_LAN_FAILOVER_ALLOWED is a newer keyword replacing obsolete NET_SWITCHING_ENABLED.

Re: cmcheckconf error message

Hi,
Reconfirm 2 things.
1. You are using the same cluster.ascii file on both node A and Node B.
2. Check the ascii file on node B (specially the Node configuration where you define the LAN interfaces and Failover lan interfaces)

Cheers

Re: cmcheckconf error message

If i run ( what /usr/lbin/cmcld ) I get the following output on both nodes.

/usr/lbin/cmcld:
HP92453-02A.11.00 HP-UX SYMBOLIC DEBUGGER (END.O ILP32) $Revision: 75.02 $
Build date: Thu Apr 3 15:23:02 PST 2003
Build id: ibld_sgops_a1115
Build platform: hpux
A.11.15.00 Date: 04/03/03
Daemon
Cluster Monitor Product $Revision: 82.2 $
Cluster Monitor Product Only $Revision: 82.2 $

The ascii file on both nodes is the same and the node's entry is as follows.

NODE_NAME nnoc-f7
NETWORK_INTERFACE lan0
HEARTBEAT_IP 1.1.1.9
NETWORK_INTERFACE lan1
STATIONARY_IP 196.1.80.41
NETWORK_INTERFACE lan2

ifconfig:

lan0: flags=843
inet 1.1.1.9 netmask ffffff00 broadcast 1.1.1.255
lan1: flags=843
inet 196.1.80.41 netmask fffffff0 broadcast 196.1.80.47
lan2: flags=842
inet 0.0.0.0 netmask 0

Note: The node I am trying to add the package to already participate in the cluster, I just need to configure a package.

Re: cmcheckconf error message

you do not have SG patched, that is my first recommendation.
I assume you are using the same command line on both nodes, please post it here.
Also do whence cmcheckonf to make sure you are using the correct command.

Failing that, I suggest you log a call with your local HP Response Centre.

Re: cmcheckconf error message

Have you remembered to distribute the configuration files to all the nodes?

Re: cmcheckconf error message

with ifconfig command the lan2 status is showing as not up, can you verify lan2 status again. I believe that is HB2.
