cmviewcl not working

Hi,

cmviewcl is not giving desired output in normal user.Instead it throws below error
Permission denied to 127.0.0.1
cmviewcl: Cannot view the cluster configuration: Permission denied.
This user doesn't have access to view the cluster configuration.

As part of the investigation i uncommented
hacl-probe line in /etc/inetd.conf. and run inetd -c. But probloem still alive.Command is fine with root user.

Please help on it

Re: cmviewcl not working

Try adding 127.0.0.1 root to the /etc/cmcluster/cmclnodelist
echo "127.0.0.1 root " >> /etc/cmcluster/cmclnodelist

You can also check check /etc/hosts file ; and /etc/nsswitch.conf

Re: cmviewcl not working

Please tell the SG version and the OS version of HP-UX.

are you able to run cmviewcl and get all the O/Ps in desired way?

the other users can be configured depending on the versions of SG that they can use the SG commands.

Re: cmviewcl not working

Hi

I am assuming that for the root user the cmviewcl is working OK.

you can refer to the following link.

http://docs.hp.com/en/B3936-90117/ch05s01.html#cacjcidg

you will need to edit the
/etc/cmcluster/cmclnodelist to make the entries of the user and the hostnames.

and have to define the Access parmeters
as
USER_NAME
USER_HOST
USER_ROLE

Re: cmviewcl not working

hi

Ok ... still after making the above said changes?
you can define the above said changes in the Pkg conf file and have to do a cmapplyconf. The package can remain running while making this only as the change in the pkg conf file.
please have a look at the link as i have mentioned earlier.
http://docs.hp.com/en/B3936-90117/ch05s01.html#cacjcidg

as a precuation you can try to doing this on less critical node node or less critical application(pkg).

but best thing to do changes and applying changes in a package is to take the package down.
