configure printer through xyplex terminal/printer server

We have an N4000 server with HP-UX 11i. We are trying to print to a Fujitsu 340 line printer via a xyplex maxserver1600 terminal/print server. All we get is connect to is down. The printer is defined as a remote printer. How should we define the printer and is there anything extra we need to do to print to this printer?
