Configuring HP4050N using JetAdmin
I am trying to configure an HP4050n using JetAdmin with no success. I receive an error saying "Receive no snmp response" ....says it could have wrong GET community name or not be a network printer. I can successfully ping the printer. What could be wrong?

When setting it up, does it ask which port to use? I've found that if I use anything but number one I get your error message.

Re: Configuring HP4050N using JetAdmin
This is usually happen when your printer is on a different subnet/network than your Jetadmin server. Meaning, the router/gateway/firewall between the subnets/networds doesn't let the snmp packets through but it does let echo (ping) packets through fine.
If that's the case, you can trick jetadmin to think the printer is a "local" printer for the purpose of creating the queue by using another IP for it in your DNS/hosts file. After successfully setting the queue for this printer, you return the "true" IP for the printer to your DNS/hosts file.
