console change options
Hi, Ive got a K220, with a 700/96 terminal for console,
in reading some of the hardware info, it says that the console adapter is a standard vga plug, and there are ps2 type keyboard and mouse inputs, since CDE is already running,(I use a X emulator from Win 95) can I just plug in a monitor and keyboard ?
TIA
Dave

Re: console change options
I dont see why not :
NB whatch out for gotcha's =>
graphics device files may need to be created : use insf -evd framebuf to do this.
The Xsever may not be setup to start on the locale console :
edit either the /etc/... or /usr/dt/config/Xservers file and unhash the
*Local Local@console ..... line
the graphics/ console path may need to be reset from the ISL prompt ?
The device files for the mouse & keyboard may need to be created ?
If you get the monitor working ... ie see the startup daemons etc but X/ CDE don't start : check /vardt/Xerrors files for clues.
good luck !
