Console Problems

I have an hp terminal connected to a A class 9000 and am having a problem in that whatever I type has a pound added on to the end of it no matter where I am, have tried changing terminals, hard shutdown (soft didn't work as # was added to shutdown command) I am unable to boot to single user as when I try to interact with IPL I get unkown command error (cause the terminal is sending BO#)

Does anyone have any ideas?

Re: Console Problems

Reset the console to its default configuration by turning it off, and then turning back on while keeping the 'd' key held down. keep the key held down for about 10 seonds, then release.

Re: Console Problems

Problem appears to be solved.....though unfortunetly reseting to factory defaults wasn't it......after trying some more resets and other such stuff....I suddenly got a dropped character message....and now it works fine....thanks for your help though :)

Re: Console Problems

Hi Scott,

Did you try changing the console cable ? Also check the terminal settings, you may reset it to the factory defaults and then set the bits and parity.

Change the terminal emulation to "HP" instead of vt100 or vt220. Try testing different combination of parity and bits.
