Control character mapping in telnet session

Can anyone show me how I can remap the STX and ETX control characters to "AA" and "EE" characters respectively.

I'm telnetting into an HP server and I need to send the STX and ETX control characters. I don't want to use the ^B and ^C characters as I also wish that the response from the server will also display an "AA" and "EE" character when it sends back the response control characters.
