Core file
Please help me to identify the problem with my core file:
1. strings core > filename
Gives me an empty output file

Thanks for answering my questions... But maybe I did not make it clear... It seemed like there was something wrong with my core file that it did not give me the executable file that generated the core and "strings core" gave me nothing....
Please help me understand the problem of the core file... thanks

It looks like the core file has been corrupted. Was it copied to another system, perhaps using ftp? About all you can tell is that it was a 64bit executable and possibly the name is atldd or related to the contents of the atldd directory.
