Re: Create depot ERROR RPC

This often falls over if you have windows machines infected with the "blaster" worm. Other than that it is normally pretty stable.

I would check it to see if really isn't running "ps -ef | grep rpc" should show you the rpc applications running.

Anyway, you can start it up by going "/sbin/init.d/Rpcd start"

Re: Create depot ERROR RPC

Not sure whether the machine ip/hostname was changed and the swagentd was not made known for the change.

swagentd -r

will fix it!

Re: Create depot ERROR RPC

I have executed the ps-ef | grep rcp command and this is the output:

root@ota3d:/ > ps -ef | grep rpc
root 588 1 0 Feb 4 ? 0:40 /usr/sbin/rpc.lockd
root 546 1 0 Feb 4 ? 7:09 /usr/sbin/rpcbind
root 582 1 0 Feb 4 ? 0:27 /usr/sbin/rpc.statd
root 983 1 0 Feb 4 ? 2:51 /opt/dce/sbin/rpcd
root 1298 1 0 Feb 4 ? 0:42 /usr/sbin/rpc.mountd
root 14228 624 0 Feb 4 ? 0:00 /usr/dt/bin/rpc.ttdbserver
root 5027 1 0 Feb 4 ? 0:33 /usr/sbin/rpc.pcnfsd
root 19737 24719 0 12:29:56 pts/tb 0:00 grep rpc

I think the rpc is started !!

Re: Create depot ERROR RPC

To put more thoughts, Who are you failed occurs when the client is trying to get the endpoint entries for the service. The service endpoints are not listed in the endpoint mapper.

Try restarting the rpc daemons. And also swagentd.
