There is a fbackup session in the cron jobs.
Due to the files size are bigger, need 2 tape to backup it. But how to fbackup show the message to response (y/n) and contine to backup to second tape. Thanks.

Re: cron fbackup

You could actually put the tape in 2 drives and let fbackup finish the first tape and write into second tape.

Have a look at the man pages on fbackup and use option -f -f you can use as many tape devices you like. And if you wish to use tape device of another machine you can use machie_name:device

This way ou can span your backup on to different drives and machines.

Re: cron fbackup

Hi
Plese note if you want to use the tape device from another machine you have to make .rhost file. ( in de root directory of the machien witch has an tape device)
This file should containa list of host that need access to machine with a tape device.
Creating this file not only allows other hosts to write to your tape drive, it also allows root on the specified host to log into your machine. This can be done with the rlogin command, and does not require a password.Unfortunately this is only way to allow a host to access a remote tape drive with fbackup/frecover.

Good luck
