Re: cstm error
I work on Solaris now, but from memory, I think the logs are under /var/stm/logs.
Do a "man cstm", it should give a clue. rename the logs, restart the daemons, and all should be cool. BUT: you probably won't be able to access the previous logs thru the tool any more.

Re: cstm error
STM has all its messages stored in a catalog which are usually read & flashed on screen by STM right away when you start a stm interface ( cstm, mstm, xstm ). The catalog could be corrputed or rather not readable or not available giving this error message.
Check the catalog if exist in "/usr/sbin/stm" and check using "file" command.
If there is an internal inconsistency in the catalog, then one has to either reinstall the "OnlineDiag" bundle with
"-x reinstall_files=true" option with swinstall or install the latest bundle.

Re: cstm error
The most likely fix would be to install the latest version of the OnlineDiags, and the latest patch. If you're then still seeing the problem, let us know exactly what message is being logged and where.
To download, go to:
http://www.software.hp.com/portal/swdepot/displayProductInfo.do?productNumber=B6191AAE
You can also go to http://www.software.hp.com and then type "B6191AAE" in the search box.
The current version for 11.0 is HWE0403, and the current patch to apply to that is PHSS_33917. (You can see the versions at http://www.docs.hp.com/en/diag/stm/stm_upd.htm#table )

Re: cstm error
Then stop diagnostics, wait for some seconds, start diagnostics again.
If it persists, then you may need to install the newer version of the diagnostics software. check form software.hp.com
