cu line problem
I have several tty process running to several ethernet to serial devices. They all run to the same equipment in different branch offices. This one tty process is always giving me this one error when we try to cu to it.
dip:/share/Pumps/new1> cu -l /dev/ttyr3 -s9600 dir
Connect failed: line problem
The equipment and cabling at the other end was replaced. It tried another tty, but I still get the same error.
Does anyone have any suggestions?
Thanks!

Re: cu line problem
If you have a failure on any tty that the "new" cable is used on then the problem is the cable. Remember that serial cables came in DTE and DCE flavors. If you buy HP cables let us know the part number of the new and old cables. If you are building your own check if pin 2 on one end comes out as pin 2 or 3 on the other.
