DAT40

I've installed a DAT40 external tape drive (product HP C5687B) on a HP 9000 D 220.

My problem is : when using the tar command to take a backup it's OK; but when using fbackup to take a backup the command tells me the device file is not valid.

I use /dev/rmt/c1t3d0BEST or /dev/rmt/1m. Both same result. Does anyone has an idea ?

Re: DAT40

Hi,

You haven't mentioned which OS you are running, but I'd ensure you have the latest stape and fbackup patches installed.

Darren.
Calm down. It's only ones and zeros...

Re: DAT40

Thanks for your reaction.

The OS is HP-UX 10.20; I'll verify the patches.
