Re: delet driver schgr

Why do you want to do this?

OK, you don't need it, if you haven't a library connected to your system. In this case, use sam, kernel configuration, drivers and disable the driver. Build a new kernel and reboot.

Hope this helps!

Re: delet driver schgr

The easiest way to do this is through SAM. It will require a reboot.

SAM --> Kernel Configuration --> Drivers
Select schgr
Actions--> Remove Driver(s)from Kernel
Actions --> Process New Kernel

The server will then need to be rebooted.

Re: delet driver schgr

Hi Yudhi,
run these 2 commands:

kcmodule -s schgr=uninstall ( I don't remember if -s or -S )

rm -f /usr/conf/mod/schgr

Re: delet driver schgr

Hi,

It means the drive was not removed from kernel or you are not botting from the rebuilded kernel.

Hw are you viewing that by the way ?

Re: delet driver schgr

In that ioscan output no driver is bound, so I'd say the driver *is* removed (though I'm not completely sure on it).
yesterday I stood at the edge. Today I'm one step ahead.

Re: delet driver schgr

Hi,

#cat /stand/system|grep schgr

Is it listed here?

In ioscan output no device file is associated with the device which is because the drive is not there in kernel.

Re: delet driver schgr

Hi,

why do you want to delete the schgr?
It should be sufficient just to disable it in the kernel: do it by

SAM ---> Kernel Configuration ---> Drivers ---> set schgr to Out (now it is In) and reboot.

After that you shouldn't see anymore schgr into ioscan.

Let us know if it helps and the version of HP-UX.

Best regards,
Fabio

Re: delet driver schgr

Hi,

Whether the driver spt or schgr it's not a big problem. You just need to specified the robotic arm device file on your backup management software (eg. DataProtector, Veritas, etc).

Here is the document (docID : KBRC00003237) about 'Quick Guide to Configuring a DDS Autoloader or a DLT' for your reference :

Hope this information can help you.

Re: delet driver schgr

Hi,

From my 1st respond, we can see that the 'spt' or 'schgr' driver is made due to where the device sit on.

If on NIO Bus so 'spt' driver is the one we can create. But if on HSC or PCI Bus, the driver should be 'schgr'.

Check the document below (docID :A5248544) :

Hope this information can help you.
