Depot Software Install
I have installed HP-MC/ServiceGuard (B3935DA) on my cluster Node(version 11.09). Now, I have a CD which has the later verson(11.13).
I put the CD and using 'swinstall' tried to install the s/w from the CD.
But, when I click on 'Install s/w from depot', some bundles including B3935DA dont show up at all. But when I click 'View Software depot', it DOES show me that this bundle is present on the CD.
Also, I know that this s/w is license protected, so I also entered my customer id and codeword; still it doesnt seem to show up on the install s/w menu.
Pls, help me to install the software.
Thanks & Regards
Karthik Narayanan.

Re: Depot Software Install
did you update your codeword with the new software? You old ones will not work... go to if you need to request an update:

Re: Depot Software Install
In the menu for 'install s/w depot' , there is an option to add 'NEW customer id and codeword'. I added the id and codeword that came with the CD.
Till then, I used to get error messages that the s/w was not loaded. Then, after I entered the id and codeword, it worked but still I didnt get many bundles.
Thanks & Regards

Re: Depot Software Install
If you are running the GUI variant of 'swinstall', toggle to true 'reinstall' and 'reinstall_filesets' from the 'options' tab.
If you are running the 'swinstall' in command line mode, do:
# swinstall -x reinstall=true -x reinstall_filesets=true ...
Regards!

Re: Depot Software Install
I think you have a good point there. But don't you feel that he is updating and not reinstalling the product.
I believe then he would not have to specify the reinstall option. However, i am not sure on this, can u pls justify.
