Device driver

We have a print queue added to the HPUX server, which is a Xerox Phaser 3250DN printer. And I did add both pcl(alx2099) and post script(alx2099_ps) queues. Post script queue is not printing the .ps files, I mean it is printing with junk.

Do you think I need to check for any special device drivers for the xerox printer? Please suggest...

Are you absolutely sure the printer is PS capable?

How can I check if that printer is capable?

Read the specs for the printer.

If you want a driver that is absolutely positively going to run this printer you need to go to Xerox to find a driver for HPUX. ( good luck ).

In most cases the HP supplied PCL or PS drivers for a compatable model will work. Or write your own using the escape codes typically provided in the printer user manual.

Re: Device driver

According to the specs on the Xerox web site (http://www.office.xerox.com/printers/laser-printers/phaser-3250/enus.html) the 3250DN is Postscript 3 compatible.

If you PS jobs aren't printing, the issue probably is the driver you are using.

Here is the drivers page for this printer on the Xerox web site:

http://www.support.xerox.com/go/results.asp?Xtype=download&prodID=3250&Xlang=en_US&Xcntry=USA&source=XOG

I could not find any HP-UX drivers. Only Windows, Mac and Linux appear to be available.

Thank you Patrick for the response. So where do you think I can find the drivers to download?
