DHCP security

In HPUX, is there a way to tell DHCP to assign ip addresses only to hostnames starting with XXX?

Re: DHCP security

DHCP really doesn't work that way, besides hostnames are easy to spoof.

if you want to restrict DHCP, start with MAC addresses. MAC addresses are slightly harder to spoof, and support for MAC based allow/deny exists in DHCPD.
There have been Innumerable people who have helped me. Of course, I've managed to piss most of them off.
