Diald using high cpu

I have 2 rx6600 running SG/CFS/RAC. I have a few TB of XP12000 disk allocated to these servers and on one of them, diald is using a lot of cpu. Can I kill and restart the process with out affecting the databases?

Re: Diald using high cpu

diald is part of command view sdm, so if you aren't using a VA disk array, I think you can safely terminate that process.

of course it can happen again - the problem is actually in some SNIA code for your FC HBAs. To fix you need to update the FC drivers to the latest (Dec 07) release. They're available here:

Pay carefull attention to the patches, product versions and card firmware you need to be on to install this:

What is VA array. Is that virtual array? Because I just remembered that I also have a chunk of MSA disk as well.

Re: Diald using high cpu

yes VA=virtaul array - nothing to do with MSA disk arrays or JBODs

Re: Diald using high cpu

I killed the process. I do not have a VA array. I'm only using XP12000 and MSA disk.
