Dialin modem

I'm trying to setup my dialin modem on my K360. I followed the document on Troubleshooting the K-Class, modem setup. And I don't have any /var/spool/locks/LCK..ttyd0p7_* files. I can cu to cul0p7 and send at commands, but when I dialup to the line, it doesn't respond. What am I missing? I have uugetty running like:
/usr/lbin/uucp/uugetty -r -t 60 -h ttyd0p7 19200

Hmmmmmmmmmm.................... If you are hanging this modem off the Core I/O card have you gone into Ctrl B and configured and enabled the port?

yes. and the modem HAS BEEN working until now.

The internal modems on K series servers can hang which, unfortunately, means you need to power down the box. It's the only way to reset it.

If possible, try and cycle the power.

Set the baud rate to 9600 not to 19200. ( I had the same problem on an L class: the modem didn't answer at 19200) .

Pardon me, but I think it is important to establish whether it is an internal or external modem. Internals tend to fail frequently. If you have predictive (I'm showing my 3000 roots) try to force a dialout and see if it connects. If it fails, then get HP involved to "fix" the modem problem in order to get predictive back up.

Also, if it is an internal, are the screws missing that hold it in place? I couldn't get mine to work until I twisted my CE's arm to bring out the T9 screws (special size) needed to hold the modem tightly in place and thereby get a good connection with the cable.

If it is an external, take it to a PC and check the config and test like hell. If you have a MUX or a DTC hook it up to it and test it.
