Differences between HP UX 11X versions.

To start with,

11i v1 (11.11) -- Supports PA-RISC 64 Bit OS.
11i v1.5 (11.22) -- First OS to support Itanium (IA64)
11i v1.6 -- Enhanced Itanium support
11i v2 (11.23) -- Both PA & IA-64 support.

Take a look at docs.hp.com for more details.

Some minor additions and corrections to Arun's table:

11i v1 (11.11) -- Supports PA-RISC 64 Bit OS.
11i v1.5 (11.20) -- First OS to support Itanium (IA64)
11i v1.6 (11.22) -- Added Itanium2 support
11i v2 (11.23) -- Both PA & IA-64 support.

Note that the original release of 11i v2 (11.23) was for IA-64 only. The 'PI' release around September 2004 added PA support.

Well, that's true - last update was "June 15 2004 @ 00:27 AM " - and 11.24 and 11.30 were futures and that was what they were supposed to be...

HP-UX 11.11 was the first OS to support cell based architectures like HP's Superdome. It also bundled a number of features that were extra cost in HP-UX 11.0, such as IPFilter/9000 and IDS/9000. There is as much detail in the release notes as you may ever want to read, so it all depends on how much information you want. Are you looking to get the 30,000 foot view or the ground level view?
