Differences with lp command between 11.22 and 11.23

We have two itanimun boxes, 1 running 11.22 and the other is on 11.23. When printing to an application that captures a filename off of the 11.22 version everything works fine, however when the same command is run off of the 11.23 version I don't get the same results. Can someone please give me an idea of the differences in the printer setups between the 2 versions. Also I have noticed that on 11.22 each printer has it's own .seq file in the /var/spool/lp/request/printer_name directory however on 11.23 it uses a generic .seqfile.

Thanks for any help!

Re: Differences with lp command between 11.22 and 11.23

Hi Tracie,

11.22 (aka HP-UX 11i v 1.6) is an old OS, IMHO this is just like comparing win xp to win 98. end-of support is near, see http://www.hp.com/softwarereleases/releases-media2/history/slide2.html .

If possible, upgrade to 11.23 and you will have the same behaviour on your servers.

Hope this helps!
Regards
Torsten.

Re: Differences with lp command between 11.22 and 11.23

Thanks for your help, however I cannot upgrade to a new version until I can figure this out. I need to have the actual filename for use in other applications. On the box using version 11.23 I actually receive garbage for a filename. This is not exceptable, I need to figure out what is actually come down in the lp command.

Thanks for your help.
