what is the directory TT_DB on unix?

The TT_DB directory is where the ToolTalk Database Server (rpc.ttdbserverd) process keeps its information. The rpc.ttdbserverd is a process which can be requested to monitor the activity of certain files either on local or remote systems; however, AFIAK, this is unused on HP-UX systems.

Oi!
As Kenneth said, the TT_DB database is created by rpc.ttdbserver. The tt_db directories contain the associations between files in this partition and the sessions with patterns interested in these files. It also contains all the object spec information for files in this partition.
