Disk Issues

I have had a system lately that the performance is getting pretty slow. Decided part of the problem was the disk demand (%busy was showing as 100% using sar -d). Application software and OS all share the same disk. I went in to try and setup the space where I want to move data too and Sam does not show any disks on my system. I have 3 drives on the system but none of them show up in sam. They show up in the ioscan -funC disk as claimed. I know I have seen these disks in Sam before. What would cause this....is it a symptom of a bigger problem. How do I make this work? Thanks

Re: Disk Issues

Hi Kathleen,

Suspect you probably need a SAM cumulative patch - here's the latest for 11.0 PHCO_25902

http://www2.itrc.hp.com/service/patch/patchDetail.do?patchid=PHCO_25902&context=hpux:800:11:00

If you company uses a more conservative patch strategy - here's the preceeding - PHCO_21187

http://www2.itrc.hp.com/service/patch/patchDetail.do?patchid=PHCO_21187&context=hpux:800:11:00

Apply one & then check SAM again. Also verify that ioscan does in fact see them.

Rgds,
Jeff
