hi all

We have 2nodes hp rp7400 cluster setup with hpux 11i and 0racle 9i with 9iAS also installed. Recently due to some reasons the server has to be shutdown. After that the report server is giving problem. "REP-3000: Internal error starting Oracle toolkit".

Its some display issue i had already set the DISPLAY=IP:0.0,DISPLAY=IP:1.0 and export. My Xserver is also runing.

can anybody help me out is URGENT Issue.

Re: Display Problem

My guess would be that your virtual frame buffer is not started, xvfb? It's used in place of a graphics terminal for Oracle Apps to perform font scaling etc.

Not sure how to start it as never used it but try searching for xvfb.

Re: Display Problem

You must have an x-display that is capable of being buffer-written to up and running before starting the report server, forms server, etc. This is where you're not getting it going I think. When logged in as the applications manager login, and your environment set up - can you run "xclock" ? Or does it fail? Even if you can't see the output of it (like xvfb), the startup would be sucessful, and the process can gain cpu time. If you can get it to display to any X buffer, you can easily restart just the reports server w/o bouncing all the rest of the application.
