How can one tell if they're using the dynamic kernel?

Re: DLKM

You can tell that when you system does not ask for reboot after retuning the kernel. This is not supported in HP server machines.

Re: DLKM

If your using HP-UX 11 your using the dynamic kernel. Wether any dynamic modules are loaded or not is another matter. Take a look in /usr/conf/km.d, if you have OnlineDiag installed then its comes with EMS which has a DLKM module called krm, if there are others listed then these are dynamic kernel modules which have been loaded without a reboot. For example, on 2 of our servers we have ethershare (HP-UX -> Mac) DLKM modules aarp and ddp in /usr/conf/km.d
Im from Palmerston North, New Zealand, but somehow ended up in London...

Re: DLKM

HPUX 11.x support DLKM's. Versions prior do not. The easiest way to verify if you have any DLKM's is to look at the /stand/system.d
tree, any loadable modules should be there.
