dmesg interpretation
The results of running dmesg:
side_ss(): Error in status reg, try=2, cdb=0x12
side_ss(): SIDE_STATUS_REG 0x1
side_ss(): SIDE_ERROR_REG 0x0
side_ss(): SIDE_SECTOR_CNT_REG 0x3
where do I look to find the meaning and significance of the messages?
Thanks, Mike

Re: dmesg interpretation
What about /var/adm/syslog/syslog.log ? There must be more errors there. What I know is the side_ss() error usually means it's doing retries on reading from disk or cdrom. Unless it has more details that you can find (in syslog.log) file, this is not a destructive message. Post any additional error from syslog.log if there are.
