Does your SEARCH work?

Dear all,

I was trying to search "memory" related issue within the forums, but it seemed that the "search" is not working. I tried to look for "Oracle" or "kernel" , neither of them worked.

How about yours? ( go to Search, click on Community Forums and then type in your search string.)

Re: Does your SEARCH work?

Hi Sharon:

Yes, mine is working at the moment. I've had many occasions lately where the search returned nothing! Sometimes (coincidentally?) I've noted that logging-out or opening another browser window fixes the problem.

I am also suspicious that changing search strings - as for instance, adding additional parameters - is not always sensed.

Regards!

Re: Does your SEARCH work?

Yes. SEARCH is working for me as well.

I did notice yesterday it was being 'flakey' for me. I would check Tech Docs & Forums, but it would only retrieve Tech Docs...nothing from Forums. Then when I went back and tried it again about an hours later...it pulled up both. Today I'm not experiencing any problems doing searches.

Re: Does your SEARCH work?

Yesterday I did a search that also returned nothing - a little later in the day, viola! I had results from several months ago. Another time it returned things up until the end of February, but nothing for March.

Re: Does your SEARCH work?

Thanks, Paula and James.

I logged out and logged back in. Then I tried 3 times, the last time it worked.

(I didn't get any error messages. It just says: Your search for memory produced no results!)

Re: Does your SEARCH work?

Yes, SEARCH went toes up for me a day or three ago. I reported to HP via the HPUX forum. It would not even find posts containing my name.

Re: Does your SEARCH work?

Darn dang it, how is one supposed to search for prior knowledge if the search keeps going down?

I see a lot of new questions being formed if you can't search for old answers.

Re: Does your SEARCH work?

Hi Sharon (et al),

Thanks for letting us know about this problem... I'm filling in for Laurent while he's out on vacation this week....

Search works ok for me from California at 11:00 AM local time.... However, I will make sure to forward this message on to the development team that put the serach functionality together and see if they have noticed any issues or have any comments to the issues that you've noted....
