DTC port reset errors
Hi there,
I am periodically getting errors when attempting to reset a "dead" dtc port.
# dtcdiag -r dtc6 b 0 Error: <105> : Unable to open log file. The only way to reset the port is to power cycle the DTC.
We are running HPUX11 on an L1000 server.
Any advise gratefully received. Thanks in advance.
Shaun.

Re: DTC port reset errors
Sounds like a permission problem trying to write to the log file.

Re: DTC port reset errors
You message indicates a problem opening the log file. If that is the case then maybe deleting the log file will allow it to be recreated correctly. You can find the log files under /var/opt/dtcmgr/log.
I've also had problems reseting ports when the terminal on the other end was not doing proper RS-232 protocol.
Try disconnecting the device and then reseting the port and see if you still get the error.
If the port is truly bad, then I would call hardware support to replace the bad board.
