Re: EMs alert.
It would be helpful to see the exact message.
I recommend removing Online Diagnostics and reinstalling an earlier version.
If this is not an option, you can reconfigure EMS via SAM and turn off this alert.
I would be very sure the power supplies are working correctly before turning off this alert.

Re: EMs alert.
This is the EMS alert which is generated everyday at ~17:30 CST after we had upgraded OnlineDiag on March 14th
Mar 17 17:34:16 usxsl003 EMS [3664]: ------ EMS Event Notification ------ Value: "CRITICAL (5)" for Resource: "/system/events/ia64_corehw/core_hw" (Threshold: >= " 3") Execute the following command to obtain event details: /opt/resmon/bin/resdata -R 240123906 -r /system/events/ia64_corehw/core_hw -n 240123908 -a
The error is
Description of Error:
The number of Power supplies has gone from N+1 (redundant) to N
(non-redundant) if a Power supply was removed, or the number of Power
supplies is < N+1.
When checked in mstm and console, the status of the power supply shows OK
Has anyone encountered such incidents
Thanks
Sunny

Re: EMs alert.
Has anybody encountered such situation before.
The power supplies are OK.
Still the onlinediagnostics generate 1 EMS alert daily.
can it be a compatibility issue
Thanks

Maybe there is a daily reason for this message? Check also the MP logs and check if your firmware is current:
MP:CM> sysrev
Hope this helps!
Regards
Torsten.

Re: EMs alert.
We have the latest version of onlinediag installed on the server.
HPUX Model String......: 9000/800/rp4440
Firmware version
MP FW : E.03.32
BMC FW : 04.06
System FW : 46.34
The latest fimware version available for this model is also installed.
The MP logs show that the powersupply is OK.
Any more suggestions

Re: EMs alert.
ITRC support document emr_na-c01455642-4 helps you:
http://www11.itrc.hp.com/service/cki/docDisplay.do?docLocale=en&docId=emr_na-c01455642-4
Suppose you have the power supply redundancy. If
/var/stm/logs/monitor/remindersel.dat is present on rp4440, move
it /tmp. Afterwards ia64_corehw #104011 is no longer generated
everyday.
Hope this helps you,
Shinji
