EMS Notification
What i get in my syslog.log file is:
Aug 1 14:30:53 bscap101 EMS [2243]: ------ EMS Event Notification ------ Value: "CRITICAL (5)" for Resource: "/system/events/ia64_corehw/core_hw" (Threshold: >= " 3") Execute the following command to obtain event details: /opt/resmon/bin/resdata -R 146997250 -r /system/events/ia64_corehw/core_hw -n 146997249 -a
Attached is the output of the resdata
My Firmware version is as follows:
[bscap101-mp] MP:CM> sysrev
SYSREV
Current firmware revisions
MP FW : E.03.30
BMC FW : 04.05
System FW : 46.34
Does this require some patching or updation in the firmware.
I just physically checked with the power cables as it doesn't show any indication.
Kindly Suggest!
Thanks!

Re: EMS Notification
the Recommended Action is the following:
Probable Cause / Recommended Action:
The minimum number of power supplies required to power the unit is
currently installed and operating. There are no redundant I/O power
supplies available in case of failure. If redundancy is desired another
Power supply should be added.
For information on the sensor that generated this event, refer to FRU ID
in Event Details section.
I don't see any suggestion to upgrade the firmware, rather it is indicating something about Power supplies redundancy.
Best regards,
Fabio

Re: EMS Notification
Thanks for the reply.
But there exists a redundant power supply already in the system and i really wonder about this message.
I checked with power cords and i dont find any problem with that, the server is up and running now.
No Amber Indications in the server as well.
