Emulex device drivers

I hope someone can point me in the right direction for this.

We have a single Emulex LP9002 installed in an L-class server running 11i with the 4.20.04 driver from Emulex for HP-UX. If an ioscan is ran the details for the Pseudo HBA are as follows.

ext_bus 8 0/2/0/0.0.0.0 lpfd CLAIMED INTERFACE Pseudo HBA

If I run the /opt/lpfc/bin/lputil and try to list the adapters, nothing is displayed, if I try to look at the link status and try to select an adapter from the "Select adapter", it responds with "Invalid adaptor".

If I run /sbin/init.d/lpfc start I get
cat: Cannot open /dev/lpfc0: No such file or directory.
Looking at /dev the lpfc0 special charater device does not exist.
I have ran the insf -e, but still the device file does not exist.

Can anyone help me here, as I'm begining to bang my head against the preverbial brick wall.
Thanks in advance, Graeme.

Re: Emulex device drivers

This is the Emulex web site for documentation and drivers:

http://www.emulex.com/ts/index_dds.html

But it may be that the card has bit the dust, Best support is to call Emulex:

* Technical Support: tech.support@emulex.com
* USA Customer Support: repair@emulex.com
* UK Customer Support: services.europe@emulex.com

I used to have a phone number but this was for print servers. So try the above URL.

Also Emulex has a knowledge search
http://Emulex.com toolbar ->Support -> Knowledgebase

Re: Emulex device drivers

Gaeme,

you find a list of supported FC HBA on HPUX11i at http://h18006.www1.hp.com/storage/saninfrastructure.html

The drivers can be found at http://software.hp.com, eg for the A6795A FC HBA at http://software.hp.com/portal/swdepot/displayProductInfo.do?productNumber=A6795AEFI Just do a search on the part number.

best regards,
Kurt
