I have an error message in the /var/adm/syslog/syslog.log which i cannot resolve.
automountd[507]: dev ff0004d0, rdev 0 not in mnttab
above message repeats 59 times

Solution
I found this for you:
"This is a known problem at the code level when running Automounter. These
automountd error messages are more of an annoyance, therefore this is not a
critical problem.
Rebooting the system clears the problem due to the fact it clears
the /etc/mnttab. But error message may reappear. Installing the latest NFS
patches fixes the problem. The relevant patches (as of 5/10/2000) are:
10.20: PHNE_20628 :NFS:NIS:cumulative:
PHNE_21108 :NFS:Kernel:Performance:
11.X : PHNE_20371 :ONC:NFS:NIS:cumulative:
PHNE_20344 :NFS:Kernel:Performance:"
