error on starting audit process


# ./auditing start
next audit file /var/audit/ods.audfile2.1206.1506
filesystem exceeds minfree,
specify an audit file on a different filesystem
auditing system unchanged
ERROR CODE 17

My config looks fine. I have 1716912K dis space available.
AUDIT_DIR points to /var/.audit
It switches when 500000 limit exceeds.

What else to look for?
