Hi friend,

When i type the date command it show me the correct time, but when i type the same command with -u option (UTC time) it is different.

Re: Error time

Hi:

The 'date -u' variation reports the time in Coordinated Universal Time (UTC). As such it overrides any timezone (TZ) setting. Thus:

# TZ=EST5EDT date -u

...is going to report the UTC, period.

Does this answer your question?

Regards!

Re: Error time

echo $TZ (* to display current *)

set_parms timezone (* to reconfigure system time *)

For Eastern Standard time:

EST5

For Easter Daylight Time:

EST5EDT

Set_parms will provide a listing or menu for you to choose from.
