Error time
Hi friend,
I need some help.. Actually a have set the time zone variable TZ=GMT-05.
When i type the date command it show me the correct time, but when i type the same command with -u option (UTC time) it is different.
How can i resolve it??

Hi:
The 'date -u' variation reports the time in Coordinated Universal Time (UTC). As such it overrides any timezone (TZ) setting. Thus:
# TZ=EST5EDT date -u
...is going to report the UTC, period.

set_parms timezone (* to reconfigure system time *)
For Eastern Standard time:
EST5
For Easter Daylight Time:
EST5EDT
Set_parms will provide a listing or menu for you to choose from.
