Excessive Traps
I have a device, a System 5000BH MCP version 3.2.3 Bay Networks HUb that is
giving me the following traps every few seconds, Trap: Link Down, then Trap:
Link Up.
I do not know what is causing this and need some assistance, fyi, i can telnet
to device, however it is 1500 miles away from me.
We are using HPOV Release B.06.01, running with "OSF/Motif Version 1.2.3, X
version version 11 revision 5.
thanks. for more info, please email.

Re: Excessive Traps
I sounds like you have a template configured in Openview to capture SNMP traps
from that device. You (or your openview administrator) can modify that
template to ignore these particular messages or to filter them out unless the
link is persistenetly down. If you are not familiar with editing openview
templates, then you probably want to visit the networking and openview forums.
