Extending Root Filesystem
Hi Mahendran.
From the description of your Problem .It seems there is some thing in the system which is taking up the space. It may be.
1.Some Application logging messages on /.
2.Scheduler(lp) logs getting Filled.
3.Any DB which is redirecting logs to Var .
Basically you need to check all these things rather than extending the filesystem.
check #du /var/adm >/home/test -->see test for who is the culprit consuming the disk space.
As suggested by few peoples u can use ignite to extend the filessystem. But I would suggest 1st find out whether HPux is consuming space or it is the application consuming Space.
