Falover for network interfaces
Dear collegues,
I need to organize failover for network interfaces on my machines - put in each machine at least two physical interfaces, and in order to be safe of failure of network equipment (swithes, routers, cards, cables and so on) put their cables in different switches.
What software I can use for this?
Port Aggregation works when interfaces stuck in one switch, thus is saves only from failure of interface card or cable or single switch port. Use of cluster soft like Serviceguard is a kind of solution, but I wish to have more lightweight solution like in.mpathd in Solaris OS.
Or may be it is possible to write a script myself to check inetrface status and migrate working IP to another interface like mpathd do?
