Fbackup config
How do I configure fbackup to work with an HP 40x6 autoloader? I looked in the Man pages and all over but I am new and confused. Thanks!!
P.S. I am leaving so I'll get to points tommorrow.

Re: Fbackup config
You can write a script to incorporate mc command (to move the tapes) and fbackup
Look man page of mc for further details.
Alternatively you can think about having omniback product

Re: Fbackup config
It is better to use a backup application like omniback / veritas netbackup or something if you are backing up your system using an autoloader. They work well with these kind of backup devices. Using the command line and fbackup to back up the system on autoloader is a pain. In the long run it is not worth this much pain.
Hope this helps.

Re: Fbackup config
I agree that Omniback is a much better
way to do backups. In saying that sometimes
us SA's are asked to do the absolute impossible
with so little in the way of resources.
i.e. money!!!!
My advice is buy OmniBack.... If you can't
have a look at the link I posted above.
There is a script attached that takes care
of moving tapes around with 'mc'. There is
also the same discussion we are having now!
