At one of my customer sites, 45Gb of data in an HP9000/A400 server is backed up to DDS3 tape using fbackup from 'sam'.
Obviuosly the second tape is asked for after the first one is finished. The message asking to remove the 1st tape and put the 2nd one appears on the console. The actual probelm appears now. If the second tape is not inserted for around 2 hours, the output of the fbackup command goes to a file in the /dev directory. Due to this the root filesystem becomes full which causes so many hassles.
Is this problem faced by somebody in here? Or is there a suggestion to avoid this?
Thanks/regards

Re: fbackup problem
The backup is initiated from 'sam'; not from a scipt. Is there a way to do this from 'sam'?
Thanks/Regards
