fbackup question

I have found the following fbackup cron job in one of our server.

00 3 * * * /usr/sam/lbin/br_backup DAT FULL Y /dev/rmt/1m /etc/sam/br/graphPCAa28864 root Y 1 N > /var/sam/SAM_br_msgs 2>&1

How can I find out what directory it actually backup and what was excluded. I have already read through the script. But I can't any thing other than the FULL parameter specify to backup everything

Re: fbackup question

It's a backup done with SAM, so maybe you can find more info in SAM.

But my guess is that this file:

/etc/sam/br/graphPCAa28864

contains directory's (which can be filesystems) with an i or an e for it. With the i for include and the e for exclude.

Re: fbackup question

The list of directories to be backed up are contained in the file,

/etc/sam/br/graphPCAa28864

the SAM generated script will perform backup according to the above file, so you can adjust contents of this file as you like.

Re: fbackup question

kho:
browse through the /var/sam/log/br_log file to see when this backup has been performed and look through the /var/sam/log/br_index.full to see the actual list of the files that were backed up the last time this backup was run. The date on this file will tell you when it was performed. Hope this helps...

Re: fbackup question

As already stated earlier in the replies you need to check the contents of the graph file ie. /etc/sam/br/graphPCAa28864. You shod get the details of what is being backed up and what is excluded.

Re: fbackup question

a little more addition i left out of my previous reply.

the graph file intries would be
i /path - include path
e /path - exclude path.

Thanks
