hi guys, i was just wondering how do u make a full backup of vg00 using fbackup.

You can do this, but the better choice is ignite.
Because in case of fbackup you need to install the OS prior to restore the backup.
Try "man make_tape_recovery" ;-)

Your question has no meaning. Fbackup deals with mounted filesystems and vg00 consists of filesystems and raw LVOL's (ie swap).
Bear in mind that a full backup of the filesystems housed within /dev/vg00 while good to have to restore certain files is not suficient to bring a dead box back to life. The tool of choice for that is make_tape_recovery -- which is part of Ignite-UX. You need to install and read the Ignite-UX documentation and then you actually do backup /dev/vg00 -- just not with fbackup.
