FC installation for D-Class Server
I have HP 9000 D390 with two FC adapters(A3591B)and HP-UX 11. How can I enforce the FC adapters to run in Point to Point protocol. Because I must connect this server to IBM Storage via SAN switch. Do you know what utility or what sequence of commands must be used.
Thank you!
Thank you!

Re: FC installation for D-Class Server
Have you already attached the SAN to your D390? If so, do an ioscan to see if they show up.

Re: FC installation for D-Class Server
Hi,
First, do :
ioscan -fnk |grep fcms
Then keep those devices to get their setting with fcmsutil
# /opt/fcms/bin/fcmsutil /dev/fcms0
It gives you some parameters on the FCP and Card.
But i don't know which tool exactly allow you to change the FCP protocol. According to me, the setting has to be done on the FC switch, and the card automatically detect the type of protocol FC if supported by the hardware.

Re: FC installation for D-Class Server
Hi,
You cannot get a A3591B card to run as
fabric, only arbitrated loop. If you
still wish to do this have a look at this
link for FC cards for the various models.
We have a D370 here that I cannot use
through our switch as everything else is
fabric and not loop.
