fcmsutil /dev/td0 get remote all

We run this command on hp 11.23 and get the following

No device found.

Yet on another system we get a full list

1. Do an ioscan to see if it is defined.
ioscan -fnC fc

2. If discovered insf to create the devices.
insf or insf -e (recreate everything)

3. You can also check cables etc...

Re: fcmsutil /dev/td0 get remote all

Hi,

Are u able to see devices when u issue "fcmsutil -fnC fc" command?

If yes, next check the device file name (is it td or fcd), check if the FC card is seated properly in its slot.

Next, whether their is a physical connection between the card and storage?

Check these, and u should be able to resolve the problem.

we can see the cards just not the eva at the other end of them.

We think its the zone as data protector goes through the same switch and is having the same probs

What is the o/p of "fcmsutil /dev/td0" (or "fcmsutil /dev/fcd0" for that matter)?

Then check zone settings in each switch and trace your cable physically. It's very simple to understand zone settings. Ask SAN admin to provide Zone settings.
