fcmsutil

I have a script that a predecessor put together. What type of response is necessary when fcmsutil reports that two devices have the following:

Loss of Sync 3
Link Fail 1

Thank you,
Jon

Re: fcmsutil

Hi

Execute 'who -b'.

Between the time you copied this information and the last reboot, as provided in who -b, you had 3 loss of sync's and 1 link fail.

Please go to /etc/opt/resmon/log/* and obtain the event associated to this outage.

Re: fcmsutil

Hi Again:

From a disk array point of view, I believe a loss of sync indicates:

a) there was a link connection failure
b) after the failure the disk array could no longer determine the number of writes in the queue.

Re: fcmsutil

Hi,

Have you got the hardware at the other end of the fiberoptic (FO) cable checked hardware-wise ? Or did you verify the integrity of the FO cable itself ? This sounds like a hardware related failure to me.
Check syslog message and u can check that issue by replacing FC card as well.
