Re: Fiber Card

Hi Ray,

If you want to install a FC card, you may require to install drivers for the same. Check with http://software.hp.com for drivers.

Also, Do a # ioscan -fnC fibre to see whether it is listed or not.

Re: Fiber Card

If you're running 11.11 or 11.23 and you have the latest Gold/Hardware Enablement patches -- then you most likely already have it. Th ekey is knowing what kind of card you have (model)..

Refer to the following URL for the various Cards - FC or Ethernet:

http://docs.hp.com/en/5990-6739/ch04s03.html?jumpid=reg_R1002_USEN

One you figure out your card, do a search on the entire HP web site for your card and it will point you to drivers and even documentation/howtos..

Hope this helps.

Re: Fiber Card

The card will not be in until Monday, The vendor sent a fiber controller and not a LAN card so will not know the type. I ask for a 1000 GB fiber card. So i hope that what I will get but time is of the essence....

Re: Fiber Card

Hi Ray,

OK - if you'll be installing a Gig-Ether card you'll need one of the following drivers in the kernel:

gelan => for most of the older models
igelan => for all the current models

Check with SAM to see if one (or both) are "IN" the kernel already or "OUT".

Jeff
