fstab

Good morning all...I have a question about
the fstab in the /etc directory...

in the options column, I sometimes see the
entries: delaylog, detainlog....

what do these mean? how and why would I use them..I have some entries with them and some entries using the 'rw,suid' options only...

thanks..Jay

Re: fstab

This has been covered a few weeks back : use search facility : keyword : delaylog : and look at entry fstab files ....

Re: fstab

Try 'man mount_vxfs' for vxfs information and 'man mount_hfs' for HFS.

Also as suggested by Alex, a Forums search will give you more information.

Re: fstab

Hi,
This is Vxfs filesystem mounting option.

It enables the filesystem logging facility.

see
#man mount_vxfs
for more details about this.

Thanks
R.Suresh.

Re: fstab

A detail description on what each options does or are is giving in the 'man mount_vxfs' page. For ex. rw ->read/write (by default), suid->Set-user-ID execution allowed(default).
