FTP Log Message
Jan 25 05:07:28 ux_db02 ftpd[22624]: FTP session closed
Jan 25 05:10:10 ux_db02 ftpd[22946]: FTP session closed
Jan 25 05:12:54 ux_db02 ftpd[23267]: FTP session closed
I am still getting this error which is making the system slow. Can i install an alternate FTP service such as Wu-ftp. Are there any risk involved. I am running a cluster on this server with oracle 8i. The the nodes have the latest patches for the FTP. But the application servers that are loading balancing the cluster are not fully patch with the latest patches for FTP.
I have downloaded this for the HP-ux 11.0 WU-FTPD 2.6.1 software depot. Can i also revert to the previous FTP with out any problem.

Re: FTP Log Message
you have assigned points to 28 responses out of 138.
Assigning points will motivate others to respond and indicate the usefullness of an answer to others reading your threads.
Why do you feel that the above message is an error ? It is simply an informational message that the FTP session has ended.
Maybe some more background ? else, if it ain't broke don't waste time trying to fix it.

Re: FTP Log Message
Shalom,
How do you figure this error message is making your system slow? You have provided nothing to back that conclusion.
HP offers no alternative ftpd servers for 11.00 which is out of support.
So you have no options to replace wu-ftpd.
There are several patches you can download and new binaries if you have a software support contract.
Clearly you have not provided full information and can not expect a meaningful response under those conditions.
Please take care of the point assignment issue as well, become a good itrc community member.
