Full copy from remote server

Hello,

I need to copy all filesystems from a Solaris to a HP-UX System, using rcp command but I want to avoid some files/directories.
How can I do it?
Should I create a script?
Is there any other command for this purpose?

Thanks!

Hi Carles,

Create a tar file with the directories and files.
Copy file tar to remote host usign "rcp" or "scp".
In remote file, untar file.

Re: Full copy from remote server

Hello again,

We can't use DP as customer doesn't want we install anything on solaris system.

We already tried tar command, but it doesn't work fine (I think it's a problem in solaris, but I'm not sure)

We can't create tar files in solaris system as there's not enough free space, so we have to copy tar files or whatever in our HP-UX system.

If there's any way to copy all filesystems from remote server excluding some files/directories, it can help a lot to us.

Otherwise, we will create a script copies just directories we need (almost all).

Thanks for your help.
