getty vhangup

Hi,
ux 11.11 v1

getty: cannot vhangup line "console". errno: 25

this msg has been appearing in the syslog.
This is the line in the inittab:
cons:123456:respawn:/usr/sbin/getty console console

Can anyone advise on how I may get rid of the error message?

Hi Maria,

Is there a console actually attached?
If there is, you might like to power-cycle it and hold down the 'd' key whilst you do it.

Also check the contents of the /etc/gettydefs file, for blank lines.
